You are a scrum master which means that you are technically an extension of management. You feel like your obligation is towards the management. You think your job is to make them happy and work as per their rules. But this isn’t how it actually works. The development team and the customers are to be the ones to stay happy because both generate substantial value. And in doing so, if the management starts to interfere and imposing their will then there is a systematic problem in that particular organization. You don’t want to mess with the management because you work for them. But you can’t either mess things up with your dev team and the customers because both are the reason for your organization to earn profits. So what should you do here?

What should be done in this type of situation?
The best way to avoid this problem is to talk your management out of it and try to bring them, the customer, and the dev team on the same page. Even after that the problem still exists then its best to stop wasting your time in an organization that doesn’t think about its customers. To be able to make a goodwill for your organization, the management has to make a sacrifice by agreeing to the terms of the customer and the dev team. And it is your job as a scrum master to bring them all on the same page if they happen to be not.

Other small problems for a CSM certified person?
Like we said earlier, becoming a CSM certified is not that easy as you have to deal with many problems. But don’t worry as there isn’t any problem that can’t be overcome. All you need to do is put in your best to overcome these problems and everything will be okay for you.

• Moreover, handling daily stand-ups meetings can be quite exhausting.
• Making your team trust you.

And many other small problems are always on the shoulder of a scrum master. But the thing is, you wouldn’t have passed the test and become a CSM certified if you weren’t capable of it. So you need to trust yourself completely and just keep going with full devotion.
