than the ones being taught at a university or college. NPTEL offers a wide
range of online courses that anyone can enroll in and they possess quite a
value while applying for a job. At present more than 600 video courses are
available in NPTEL online courses and covering a variety of fields including
science and technical ones. Whatever the course you want to enroll in is
absolutely free. Also if you want to get a certificate then that can happen as
well but a nominal fee has to be paid and the learner has to pass the exam
well.
Now that we’ve talked about the
let us get to the main part where we’ll
be talking about the procedure to register for NPTEL online courses.
Procedure to register in a NPTEL online course:
Below is a step-by-step
guide as to how you can join a NPTEL online course.
ü If you want to enroll in one of the online courses by
NPTEL then the first step towards it is to type on your google NPTEL online
courses or SWAYAM central.
ü This will take you to the main page where you can find
a variety of options.
ü On the top right side, you can find the
Sign-In/register option. Just click on it.
ü After clicking this option, you will be directed to a
page where you can see three options to log in. Microsoft account, Google, and
Facebook. Now you need to select any one of the accounts to get further access.
ü We’d suggest if you already have a Gmail account, then
just select the 2nd option which says Google.
ü After registering, you’ll be redirected to the main
page where you can find your registered id mentioned on the top right side of
the page.
ü Click on your id where you’ll find the option my
profile. Just click on this option.
ü Here you have to fill in your personal information.
ü After completing this process, click on the course
catalog option on the top middle of your page. And select your area of
interest. For example, if you are an engineering and technology student, click
that option, or if a law student then find the law option and click on it.
ü Suppose you have to click the Law option, a page will
open consisting of all the law-related courses. Each course available would
have a starting date, the last date to enroll, and the exam date.
ü Click on the course you want to enroll in and a page
will open containing the description of the course. Other details like what the
course is about and its duration, who is the instructor etc are also mentioned.
ü Click on the JOIN button which will take you to
another page where you need to agree to all the conditions and click the update
profile and join course option.
ü Here the registration process and complete and you are
all set to learn from the course.
ü Now if you want to take a look at all the courses
you’ve enrolled in, just click on the, my course options available on the top
right side where your Gmail id is mentioned. All the information relevant to
your courses will appear right in front of you.
